D53 Transitions to Remote Learning on Friday, January 12, 2024 due to Forecasted Weather Conditions

Dear Butler D53 Families and Staff,

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for DuPage County starting early morning tomorrow and lasting through Saturday morning. The region is anticipating heavy snow and dangerous travel conditions, especially during anticipated drop-off and pick-up times. Due to the forecasted winter weather for tomorrow, Brook Forest Elementary and Butler Junior High school buildings will be closed on Friday, January 12th to prevent travel to and from school on potentially hazardous road conditions.

All teaching and learning will take place remotely. Start and end times of learning remain the same. This will be a half day of learning. Your child’s teacher will send learning links.

While the buildings will be closed, we will continue to make sure that impactful learning still continues for all of our learners while keeping staff and students safe. This has been and continues to be our priority.

If you have any questions, please contact your building principal.

Stay safe,

Dr. Paul O’Malley
Superintendent of Schools
