Superintendent's Message - June 09, 2023

Dear D53 Families and Staff:

Thank you all for another incredible school year. Our students have grown since September - academically, physically, mentally - in larger part due to our wonderful D53 teachers and staff as well as our terrific parents. We are thankful for the continued partnership our district has with families to support academic growth and excellence for each student to achieve and their highest potential.

These past few weeks have been buzzing with all of our traditional end of the school year activities - DARE Graduation, 8th Grade Graduation, Exploremore Day - and so much more. These are memories that all of us cherish for a lifetime and we are grateful to offer these milestone activities to honor major benchmarks for our students and their families.

Our partners in our Capital Improvement and Vision Projects are currently on schedule and have completed all of the necessary preparations in order to commence work as soon as school is officially out for the summer. To stay updated on progress, please visit our Construction Corner or follow the district on social media over the summer.

As our schools begin their summer hours and our construction projects ramp into full speed, regular and consistent communication from each school and the district office will commence again in mid-August.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, September 5, 2023 - the official first day of school for students!

Stay well, be safe, and enjoy your summer!

Dr. Paul O'Malley
