Dear Butler D53 Families and Staff,
The 2020-2021 school year will be one that has never been experienced before. Last evening, the Board of Education held a Special Meeting to further review and discuss the instructional pathways for reopening our schools, along with sample schedules. The Board of Education read over 70 emails received, and listened to comments from various stakeholders; parents, Oak Brook Education Association representatives, staff, and community members - at the previously held Education and Community Outreach committee meetings as well as at this Special Meeting.
After much thoughtful consideration and discussion, the Board of Education adopted a resolution to begin the school year with full in-person all-day instruction with adherence to all health and safety modifications while in Phase IV of the Governor’s Plan, as well as offer the option for those to choose a full remote learning environment.
As part of completing the registration for the new school year, all families will be required to indicate whether they will choose the full in-person all-day option or the remote learning option by Thursday, August 6th at 4:00 PM through PowerSchool. Parents will need to sign in and then select the "Reopening Sign Up" option on the left-hand menu to complete this indication.
