Parent and staff surveys and involvement sought in principal search

Butler Junior High: Your Involvement is Sought in BJH Principal Search

Butler School District 53 is seeking involvement from parents, staff and faculty in helping choose the next principal of Butler Junior High. Current principal Ms. Amy Read recently submitted her letter of resignation effective June 30, 2019 and has accepted a position as principal of Herrick Middle School in Downers Grove

In the spirit of collaboration, the District would like to involve all of its constituents in the search process. There are two ways to participate. Parents and staff/faculty are invited to share their thoughts on the characteristics they would like to see in a new principal. Please fill out this survey by June 4. The results will be shared at the June 10 Board of Education meeting.

In addition, parents and staff/faculty are invited to fill out an application to participate on the interview committee of the final candidates. Depending on the number of parents who express an interest, we may need to limit involvement to those who represent a cross section of our community. Interviews are expected to be conducted on June 14. For parents, please fill out this Google Form by June 4 if you are available on the June 14 interview date. For faculty and staff, please fill out this Google Form.  You will be informed of your involvement by June 6.

“We are confident that we will secure a candidate whose credentials reflect the high quality standards of our District,” said Superintendent Dr. Paul O’Malley. “I sincerely appreciate the collaboration and interest of the Butler school community,” he said.
