Colonial fair
Brook Forest students learn about early American history. Students learned how to play Nine Men’s Morris, practiced the art of calligraphy using a quill and read more about Abigail Adams, Alexander Hamilton and others. It was a day planned by 5 th graders who created individual and group projects for the Colonial Fair. The 5 th graders spent weeks studying the early formation of the United States from the 1400s to 1700s. Each 5 th grader then created an individual project on a person or event, then in small groups choose a game or craft to teach. The younger students visited the fair throughout the afternoon learning more about the era, its history and culture from the 5 th graders.
