Because of these accolades, Brook Forest had been awarded the Bright Red Apple Award, School Search Bright A+ and the prestigious National Blue Ribbon Award. It was awarded the No. 1 public school by Chicago Magazine for its test scores. Most recently, on the PARCC exam, out of 3,700 schools in Illinois, Brook Forest was 1 of only 30 schools that achieved readiness scores of 80 percent or more.
