Voyages Literary Magazine

Submission Period

Voyages is accepting submissions from October 1st to April 1st. Work submitted after the April 1st deadline will be considered for publication during the following academic year.

Our student-run, faculty-advised literary journal publishes exceptional student works of fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, photography, digital, and traditional art. 

Where to Submit

Please submit all work as an attachment of an approved file type to All submissions must be sent from a Butler email address. Please include your name and grade in the body of the email. 

File Formats 

For ease of layout, Voyages can only accept files submitted as Word documents, JPEGs, PNGs, and PDFs.

Additional Guidelines

  • All fiction and creative nonfiction pieces are limited to 1000 words.
  • Each poetry submission should contain a maximum of 3 poems 
  • Art submission should contain a maximum of three pieces
  • Each student may submit only one submission per category (fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, art); however, students may submit to multiple categories per reading period.

Additional work may be highlighted on the Voyages website after obtaining consent from the creator.


Once you have submitted, you will receive a confirmation email verifying that your work has been received and is under consideration by the editorial staff. Once a decision has
been reached, an editor will reach out to you to update you on the status of your piece.
