Butler District 53’s administrative team provides leadership for key areas of operation for the district:

    

 
Dr. Sandra Martin, Superintendent
Originally trained as an English teacher, Dr. Martin has served in the educational field since 1980. She earned a B.A. with highest honors in English and Theatre from Illinois State University, a M.S. in Theatre Arts from Northern Illinois University, an M.S. in School Administration from Northern Illinois University and her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Loyola University Chicago.

She began her tenure as superintendent of District 53 in July of 2003. A strong child advocate, Dr. Martin believes every child has a unique gift and the capacity to make significant contributions to our society. Education should foster these gifts and prepare children for the next level of their education. Ultimately, she hopes that if children find enjoyment and satisfaction with the educational process, they will develop a life-long thirst for knowledge and continue learning throughout their lives.

Ms. Doreen Ciecierski, Administrative Assistant
Originally from the corporate world, Ms. Ciecierski enjoys working in the school setting where children enliven each day. She works directly with the Board of Education and the Superintendent to facilitate board meetings and correspondence, all district communications, employment applications and personnel files. She also maintains all district records.

Ms. Sandi Moore, Business Coordinator
Ms. Moore facilitates all business functions for the school districts. From payroll to tax records, from insurance to budget, all financial matters pass through her office. With over 10 years of school business finance experience, Ms. Moore keeps the district well appraised of its financial condition. An active mother and community member, Sandi realizes that her work enhances the educational opportunities for the district’s students.
