Mrs. Val Cawley

Bio:

My teaching career commenced in 1974, and I began teaching in Butler District 53 in 1976. The majority of my years at Butler Jr. High have been spent teaching language arts, but I have also taught Spanish. When I am not teaching, my life is filled with two enjoyable activities: spending time with my husband and children and reading books.

Education:

I received my Bachelor of Arts from Elmhurst College with a double major in English and Spanish. I earned my Master of Arts in Literature and Linguistics from Northern Illinois University.

Goal/Why I Became A Teacher:

Learning has always been a fulfilling experience for me, and many teachers have been influential in my life. I became a teacher to impact children in a meaningful way. My goal is to share my love of learning with my students as I enjoy learning from them.
