Bio:
I was brought up in Europe (France and Spain) and lived in the U.S.
for the first time when I started college. I moved to Chicago the
year my husband and I were married and began my teaching career in
1971 in Park Forest, Illinois. After teaching for five years, I stayed
home to raise our two daughters. During some of those years, I provided
Spanish/English translation services for LADSE. I worked part-time
for Western Springs District 101 for a year before coming to Butler
Junior High in the fall of 1989.Outside of school, I enjoy traveling,
music, shopping, and spending time with our children in Chicago and
New York.
Education:
Bachelor of Arts, College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio
(Psychology)
Master of Arts, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota (Educational
Psychology)
Goal:
My goal is to help children succeed in school so
that they will develop the self-confidence and skills to reach for
higher and more challenging goals.
Why did you become a
teacher?
I knew I wanted to work with children as far back as I can remember.
I cannot think of a more satisfying way to reach children than to
teach them.
