Prior to working at Butler #53, I worked as a social worker with the Department of Children and Family Services in Illinois. I investigated child abuse and neglect and worked with families that were indicated of abuse and neglect. It was hard and challenging work, but also rewarding.

Education:
Bachelors of Arts in Elementary and Special Education, Masters Degree in Social Work I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Goal:
To encourage and inspire children to be the best they can be in everything that they do.

Why did you decide to become a teacher?
I was inspired by several teachers and mentors to be a teacher and social worker. I have always known I wanted to work with children and that is what I love about my job. Children are “the future”. They come to school so happy and excited each day to learn. Their enthusiasm gives me a love for teaching.
