Mrs. Barbara Rebecca

Bio:
I began my career as a junior high language arts and math teacher with many classes of gifted and talented children. I took my first computer class in 1972, and I became convinced of the benefits of technology in education. Since then, I have worked in four different school districts and have taught every subject in every grade level, K-9!

For the past nine years at Brook Forest School, I have served as the Technology Director and Gifted/Talented Facilitator. Four years ago, I completed work on my Administrative Certificate, and I was thrilled to accept the position of Assistant Principal at Brook Forest School. I feel honored to work in a district that puts the needs of the children first.

In my free time, I teach Graduate classes at National Louis University. I enjoy traveling, biking and spending time with my family.

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education
Master of Education in Educational Technology
Advanced Studies in Curriculum Development and Design
Administrative Certificate in Educational Leadership

Why did you decide to become a teacher?
From the time that I was a child, I longed to be a teacher. For me, there could be no greater dedication.
