Mrs. Danielle Lopez

Bio:

Hi! My name is Danielle Lopez. I am an elementary resource/inclusion teacher at Brook Forest School. I am married and live in the town of Lombard. I have two dogs named Buddy and Jade. My husband and I are expecting our first child in December of 2004. I have been a teacher for the past eight years.

Education:

I received my Bachelor's degree from Illinois State University in 1997. I have a degree in education K-12, and endorsements in multiple areas of special education. I received my Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Governor's State University in 2002.

Goal:

I hope that by working with children I can make a difference. I hope to give them the tools to enter the next grade level and eventually the world with confidence in themselves. I want them to know that they can accomplish anything because they have seen the results of their hard work. I think my teaching philosophy could be summed up in the proverb "Give a child(man) a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a child(man) to fish and feed him for life.

Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I decided to become a teacher because I love working with children and wanted to make a difference in the world. I originally wanted to become a psychologist, but later realized that I could have more impact on children working as a teacher. I am so glad for the choice I made, and I cannot imagine doing anything else.
